Position Overview
Skysense AI is seeking motivated, detail-oriented entry-level UAS Drone Pilots to join our growing team in Kennewick, WA. In this role, you will primarily operate drones remotely under our FAA Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) waiver for bird and wildlife mitigation operations across the country. You will also conduct in-person flights at agricultural operations as needed.
This is a hands-on, technically demanding role that is ideal for newly certified Part 107 pilots in the Tri-Cities area — including Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland — who are eager to build real-world flight hours and operational experience in a commercial setting.
Compensation
- Day shift: $20–$30 per hour, depending on experience
- Night shift: $30 per hour, regardless of experience
Responsibilities
- Operate drones remotely under Skysense’s FAA BVLOS waiver for bird and wildlife mitigation missions across the USA
- Monitor live drone feeds, manage flight paths, and respond to airspace or situational changes in real time
- Conduct in-person agricultural flights at farms and field sites as assigned
- Maintain accurate flight logs, mission records, and equipment checklists
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections on assigned aircraft
- Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure safe and effective mission execution
- Adhere to all FAA regulations, company SOPs, and airspace authorization requirements
Required Qualifications
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (current and in good standing)
- Strong situational awareness and ability to remain focused during extended remote operations
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled day and night shifts
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior commercial drone flight experience (agricultural, inspection, or security operations)
- Experience with DJI enterprise platforms or similar professional UAS
- Familiarity with UAS ground control software and mission planning tools
- Comfort working night shifts and non-standard hours
Work Location & Schedule
This position is based at Skysense AI headquarters at 303 W 1st Ave, Kennewick, WA 99336, conveniently located for pilots commuting from anywhere in the Tri-Cities (Pasco, Kennewick, Richland) and surrounding southeast Washington communities. All BVLOS operations are conducted from our office. Occasional travel to agricultural field sites may be required for in-person flight assignments.
Free housing is available for pilots relocating from out of town.
Both day and night shift positions are available. Schedules will be determined based on operational needs.
